Moosehead Luncheon
11/8
No sailing season can be considered complete without the random cannon fire, misplaced pomposity and complete hilarity of the annual Moosehead Lunch celebrating race management misdeeds on Long Island Sound. In its 2020 pandemic edition the awards ceremony was pre-taped and simulcast to RC members enjoying gatherings at clubs around the Sound.
For the first time in history the full proceedings will be available to the public on the Moosehead Yacht Klub Facebook page. Spoiler alert - SCYC shared a honorable mention Moosehead Award for Excellence again in 2020 - 3rd time in 8 years!

Junior News
12/9/19
This year, the Junior Activities Committee supported the Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor Protection Committee in its initiative to regrow oyster beds to provide cleaner water. Our juniors grew 1,000 oysters to maturity and put them in an oyster spawner sanctuary at the bottom of our harbor. It was the perfect opportunity to educate our juniors on the importance of respecting and protecting our marine environment.
